The Inter-Fellowship Forum convened on the invitation of Sex Addicts Anonymous (SAA). At their national convention, SAA set up the goal to establish dialogue with other S-fellowships. Their national service board voted to extend invitations to Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (S.L.A.A.), Sexaholics Anonymous (SA) and Sexual Compulsives Anonymous (SCA). At the first Inter-Fellowship Forum, which was held in Chicago in 1991, SAA, SCA and S.L.A.A. were in attendance. In 1997, SA joined the forum and in 1998 Sexual recovery Anonymous (SRA) began participation. It was clarified during the first Forum that the purpose of dialogue was “cooperation” and not “affiliation”. Since 1996 the IFF face-to face meeting has been held annually, and in 2003 a mid-year telephone conference was added. Co-S-fellowships were initially invited as observers. COSA began attending in 2004 and in 2007 was invited to participate in the Forum. The IFF website, www.sfellowships.org, was established in 2005. And like a phoenix, it was reborn in 2015 as www.sexrecoveryfellowships.org.
